Title: configuration.php
Post by: ROUBOS on October 20, 2009, 03:36:56
 Hi,
I have installed elxis 2009 as per the book I bought ("ΚΑΤΑΣΚΕΥΗ WEB SITES ΜΕ ΤΟ Elxis CMS 2008"), which mentioned that the configuration.php file should not be writable.

I want to disable the appearance of the author name (for example) and I see that I need to alter the configuration.php file for that.

So I cannot make any changed to the general preferences.

Should I be making configuration.php writable whenever I need to, and then change the permissions again? or is it not recommended to do so?

thanks

only /cache and /tmpr folders are mandatory to be writable for elxis to work properly...

everything else can be switch to writable only when is needed .. configuration.php, compoments or modules folders etc....
