Title: Component Google Map - Translations needed
Post by: speck on November 04, 2010, 13:02:50
Hi guys!
a nice improvement for Elxis is ready.
As forever i need the translations for the component and his module.
For the component  the translations in the same languages of the administration side are appreciate to not have a mixing language in back-end.

The component is based on the new version of google map (v3.0) and the API key is not request, use the geolocate (latitude and longitude are not request). The only limits is max ten markers on the map. For more markers or incorrect addresses is better to use the Latitude / longitude.
In reality this component is an upgrade of the elxis component com_contact, and use for his configuration only parameters. During his install, the component Google map makes a backup of some original files, so to have the possibility to bring at the original state the component com_contact. The component give you the possibility to use it as normal component com_contact or as powerfull component google map. (example: as a db for churches, hotels, monuments, interesting poins and much more...the only limit is your fantasy). The category contact menu, and each contact are customizable how you want.

Before to put in EDC i need time because i must prepare some examples and an guide-line on elxis wiki.

In the meantime a request to the gurus of elxis.
Because i have some variables that passes the informations to the info window of google map, these lines are rights or not??  ???

Code: [Select]
if (($row->misc != '') && ($params->get('googleshowinfo'))) {
if ($params->get('longtext') == 0) {
$miscg = eUTF::utf8_str_replace("'", "\'", $row->misc);
} else {
$miscg = eUTF::utf8_substr(str_replace("'", "\'", $row->misc),0,$params->get('longtext')) .'...';
}
$miscg = str_replace('"', '\"', $miscg);
$miscg = str_replace('/',"\/", $miscg);
$miscg = str_replace(array("\n","\r","\t"),"",$miscg);
}

is the only trouble i have.

Here a preview of the admin panel:

Thanks a lot again to All

Thanks, i know it ...don't worry, but the variables are ok! ... I only changed the definition in description. they didn't liked me, so i used the same definition of the variable title.

Thanks a lot Nikos  :)

Yes but for both there is the same description and in Greek i did the same as you had it in English.

Try to use one language define string per different description.
Different language strings with the same description makes the system "heavy" without any particular reason :)
Unfortunately in programming there is no thought about : " I don't like them" but "I must do them in order to ...  " ;)

Speck a term which i saw (as you used) and i had difficulty to give the right translation in Greek, was "geolocate" = "γεωτοποθέτηση" and i am not so sure if people will understand this, for all supported languages.

Don' worry, me too i don't know how translate Geolocate in italian. I used the same term of Google that i found on the page to configure the API  so I 'm not wrong.

You can translate as GeoLocation  ;)
