Title: Elxis and technorati blog feed
Post by: xmanhattan on September 27, 2009, 13:03:56
Hello all,

I have been following and analyzing a problem that has to do with the recognition of the Elxis eblog at the Technocrati website.
The problem occurs when the blog owner wants to claim the blog using the Technocrati procedure.

If we have a website that is declared in the form
Code: [Select]
http://www.example.com and we have created an eblog with the name
Code: [Select]
http://www.example.com/eblog/mysiteblog/ then normally one would claim the second link as the blog to Technocrati.
Because Elxis RSS feeds populate the XML with reference to the first link, when Technocrati attempts to verify that the link to the blog is the same as that which has the verification code, it cannot.

More information to come as soon as I hear from the techs at this link.  http://getsatisfaction.com/technorati/topics/non_listed_cms_error_500 (http://getsatisfaction.com/technorati/topics/non_listed_cms_error_500)

For infomation sharing purposes.

The latest update is that my blog has finally been recognized by Technocrati but the link is referencing the main page of the site.

This was accomplished by claiming the eblog and using the url of the main site or root as the link rather than the ebog url.

This in itself can be a benefit to the ranking of a site because Technocrati pulls my other content into it's site as well.

For those of you who are considering blogging through the Elxis eblog.
