Title: Subscriber viewing website
Post by: ROUBOS on September 02, 2016, 23:54:37
Hi,
I need to create a site for a football club, and they want to be able to offer content such as videos on demand for subscribers only.
My question is, can we set something up using Elxis?

My options are some video on demand platforms that are already available such us subhub, vhx, uscreen etc. Or a purchased module with the use of wordpress or joomla and a Vimeo business account.

I would prefer a CMS site over the platform which should give me more flexibility and the ability to have an eshop section as well as advertisements etc. In general more control of the site.

Any advice, thoughts would be appreciated. Can Elxis CMS do this? Using Elxis and a Vimeo business account to host the videos. (or is youtube better for this?)

thanks

Off course Elxis can do that. There are many way to do it, here are some ideas:
- Make a category available only to a specific user group (subscribers) and put your videos there.
- Make all content available to the public but the video only available to a specific user group (subscribers). In this case you will need to slightly modify your video player (just 1 line of code to check user's group).

You can use any player you prefer. If you need a player not available for Elxis I can make it an Elxis plugin for you for a low price. Off course you can hire any other developer you wish.

If you need the subscription/payment to be automated I can develop a special plugin for you that will register the user, perform the payment and after the payment put the user to the specific "subscribers" user category.
