Hello all,
I have created a website (pro bono) for one of the Greek public grammar schools and it appears that their use of virtual hosts creates a problem with the ftp information that I completed in the Elxis 2009.3 configuration so I did not activate FTP.
This was the error message:
*** FAILED - WRONG ELXIS ROOT! ***
Elxis connected successfully to an FTP server but Elxis installation not found.
Please check FTP root setting in Elxis global configuration!
I needed to load an extension and did it successfully with the ftp deactivated. Are extensions loading differently?

Have you enabled the ftp feature from the global settings? If you set the ftp settings properly then the generated error will go away! :)

Sorry, I failed to mention that I entered the parameters and applied them but I only tested the ftp using the check.
Usually I check it and it displays okay before I activate it. I will try activating it.
Thanks

I think you use wrong ftp server... You should use the one where your site files are located.

Sadly, this is the server for http://www.sch.gr/ (http://www.sch.gr/)
Apparently they are using virtual host and then using another virtual host under that. I have not figured out exactly but I have contacted Dimitris Kanatas and verified a few parameters. The way that they have set up those servers does not conform to anything that I have seen.
Once a new dns name is created, all of the parameters have to conform to the name and public_html added to the absolute path.
Using the initial virtual url that they provide and the second virtual url, Phpinfo provides two different reports.
Even the rewritebase and some modules using js do not work well.
Thanks
