This is not a program otherwise it runs under a browser.
Linux , safari , windows all supported from it.

Just see the original Presentation of Google Wave here : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_UyVmITiYQ

hmm, google expansion...

What it can give to Elxis?

Using Google API's to creating some components for Elxis?

It might not give anything to Elxis, never. We are talking about a new communication tool (Google WAVE). Those who use Wave in this phase... can understand what im talking about.

For those who don't want to use Wave right now.... OK no offense. But remember... they will for sure use it in some months/years... when eMailing will be a very old kind of communication.  ;D

As Wave creators said:  Wave will kill e-Mail

no )) I'm talk about using Google API's - for example Google Wave API's for Elxis extensions creating ))

The Google Wave Embed API allows you to easily (and quickly) add communication and collaboration tools to your web applications. The Embed API allows you to embed waves on third party websites, anywhere in the web, for easy discussion and collaboration using wave's cutting-edge user interface. Any conversations on those waves also show up in your Wave client, making Wave an easy way to aggregate conversations you care about all over the web in one place.

Don't base too much on Google. If Google become a monopoly this will be the end of the open internet.
All this social networking stuff is in fact, unsocial (nice slogan for site: Unsocial networking :D ).

Well, WAVE is not a social network service.  Let's say: its an advanced email service. Try it & you will see that it's not facebook, twitter or any other similar service.

I have seen the presentation, it looks very good but I wont use it. I don't like my messages and private conversations to be stored on Google's servers. I also like the e-mail most as it can be used also offline as an archive. I keep mail messages since 2000 in my computer and transfer them from computer to computer. And this archive, even if it is not so fancy, it is private and does its job very well. The only part that I am interested in is building an API to include WAVEs into Elxis, off course if people are interested in this. I might used WAVE if Google did not own the servers exclusively. If there were WAVE servers like we have mail servers, that would be a real revolution, not what Google now propose us to do. I am sorry, I don't like wave....

They said that WAVE is an opensource project, so we have to wait for more options.

That's no true. The system has been built in a way to support Google interests. This has nothing to do with open source. If you listen to Google people's speeches they often talk about "secrets" and "products". They provide to the developers an open platform to expand more their product but the main product is not open and not available to me or you. If Google wanted to provide the humanity an alternative solution to the e-mail they should share their "secrets" and "product" with other companies and communities and they should focus on how the WAVE could run under any web server not just theirs.

So I'm confused, at http://www.waveprotocol.org/ they offer the source code, and they mention two other wave options.
Is that fake? or the source code is incomplete?
You are right saying that we mustn't trust a lot in Google Inc.

After some reading I am now quite interest in setting up a wave server with openfire.
If anyone has any proposal on collaboration on this he may contact me.

The above conserns the server part. As for the user/client part I think I will keep attached to the e-mail.

google is the best in marketing..

all these that google provides from year to year is more marketing-tricks  rather than true love for end-user!

wisely they collect data again and again... google is one of the best(the best for me) in this area...

when you know you can  guide your campaign better than others... you are a small god!

i don't like google's tricks ... they offer a small piece of help and guide our companies  and life.. it takes our souls day to day.

every monopoly is bad!

I agree, and I advise people not to base so much their communications and business on Google's services. Not to promote Google's businesses and products like they were theirs. If Google become a monopoly then we are f.....ed up. And as I have several times said, I don't understand why people use services such as facebook, twitter, and now wave. Why you want to expose your self this way? Why to use gmail accounts when you have your own PRIVATE e-mail accounts? Why to use facebook instead of having your own personal blog or other space to post your interests online? Why you publish your personal photos, friends, interests, etc, online to anyone? There are many people that publish every detail of their personal life online. I really don't understand why.

Why to use facebook instead of having your own personal blog or other space to post your interests online?

I will say it in a parabolic way  ;D Gianni, when the fuss is happening in Syntagma and Monastiraki. It's not wise to go by yourself to Menidi... so you can promote your services.

I use Facebook, i use Twitter and Wave. I inform you that i use them ONLY for promotion purposes. Want an example? TWITTER: I use it only to post (tweet) the subjects from Connection.gr posts. I'll tell you this.... 28 views in 2 minutes, from the time i post an article, is a very good reason for me to use Twiiter.  ;)  As we say in Greek: Με ενα μαχαιρι μπορεις να κοψεις ψωμι και να φας αλλα μπορεις και να σκοτωσεις ανθρωπο.

As for wave.... i do not agree. Wave is not a social tool. Wave is a tool to keep up on projects. Remember the portal (?) and the application we were looking for? That was Wave my friend  :) but it was not provided at that time.

Coursar's english is bad )) but about google - see in the internet - it is the biggest world internet company without any serious rival (include MS with Yahoo syndicate). What projects create Google? From new programming language (go) - to new platform (chrome os and android) and modify http (). What is this? )) Creating free products and attracting community to advertise this product.

Summary: using open code and google ideas in your own projects is good, but not using google's services and products ))

It's like MS, but greater marketing ))

IMHO ))

There will be a time in the future that the past/current hate against microsoft will be nothing in comparison to the hate against google. Remember this.
