- concerning database is it sufficient to backup the old one and restore it to new one?

easy step to copy the database:
1. Export your old elxis database via export tools, if your elxis database is mysql you may use MySQLAdmin.
2. Import (as same as step 1, you may use MySQLAdmin) your exported old elxis database to your new elxis database, but remember to make new elxis database.

easy step to copy the elxis file:
1. copy all elxis file from old site to new site (you can use FTP).
2. edit configuration file (configuration.php) with your new elxis site configuration needed.

the solution (above) only a simple way.
