Title: Elxis 2009.1 Hecate rev2562
Post by: timalsina on October 10, 2009, 00:09:38
Datahell,

May I know what files were modified for 2009.1 Hecate rev2562 release. I just wanted to update the modified files to existing rev2558 installation.

There was a problem with the ibrowser that it is not sure that has been solved yet. We will inspect the issue tomorrow morning.
Folder changed is this one:
mambots/editors/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/ibrowser/scripts/
And a patch can be downloaded from here: -REMOVED-
But as I said, it is not yet sure that the patch is 100% OK. Tomorrow morning we will know.

When the 2009.1 release is stable 100% we will release 2009.1 hashes and you will be able to detect what exactly files you need to replace.
Don't worry, just report here anything you see not working as expected and we will solve it immediately.

EDIT
Final patch is here:
http://www.elxis-downloads.com/com_downloads/patches/211.html (http://www.elxis-downloads.com/com_downloads/patches/211.html)

Sounds good. No problem so far besides what's been reported. Running flawlessly on PHP 5.3.

If you downloaded Elxis 2009.1 before October 10, 2009 and you have similar problems download and apply this patch:
http://www.elxis-downloads.com/com_downloads/patches/211.html (http://www.elxis-downloads.com/com_downloads/patches/211.html)

It will update Elxis 2009.1 Hecate to revision 2563.

I'm reinstalling Elxis for other reasons...( i think i deleted some important files  ::) - just as well it was not a production site!) today - 11/10/09 - so will install Hectate...my question is, do I need to apply the patch or does the latest version already have the problem solved?

Thank you

We ALWAYS have the latest version for download.
So, the patch is included in the version you download from EDC.
Also, if you notice the Elxis zip name has a "rev2563" in it. This is the SVN revision and means that we have done 2563 commits on the Elxis repository since the project has been initiated on December 2005.

Edit: Thanks for your response and reassurance.

Me again, with a minor error, which I'm not sure if I leave will have an impact later on the site:

Code: [Select]
ELXIS WARNING: There is no Timezone indentifier defined!
You must set the proper timezone in php.ini. Example: date.timezone = "Europe/Athens"
Elxis set timezone to America/Chicago

Where do I find the php.ini file?

I deleted all the file on the public_html folder, so I don't think I have the php.ini - ehh where can I get it from...or can someone provide the code so I can create this file? Or something else?

Thanks

php.ini is the configuration file of PHP on the server. Its location on the server depends on the server OS and control panel. On your local machine would be in the directory you installed PHP (f.e. c:/PHP/php.ini). On a UNIX server you can find it using the locate command:
locate php.ini

If you don't have root account or you can not have a custom php.ini you should contact your hosting provider to do this setting for you.

If this information is not available in PHP 5.2/5.3/6.0, PHP sets a warning.

To bypass this problem Elxis sets automatically the timezone to the server location - yours seems that it is in Chicago.
If Elxis 2009.1+ did not do that your site and your error.log would be full of PHP warnings.
You can use Elxis without the timezone information but you must know that for each click you do on your site, Elxis will apply this fix for you.

For more info read this: http://wiki.elxis.org/wiki/Set_timezone (http://wiki.elxis.org/wiki/Set_timezone)

Can I create the php.ini file after installing Elxis (just finished installing it successfully) ....i do have root access etc but i deleted this php.ini file because i thought it was part of the old elxis installation and the new elxis installation would create this file.....i will ask hosting company to create this again, are there any specific requests or functions that they should turn ON for elxis to function correctly?

What I meant was: what are the recommend PHP Settings that should be in this file? If someone could put these up here I can ask my hosting company to make these changes. I've finished the installation now so don't know what these settings are.

Thanks once again

Hello ,

i've just upgraded to Elxis 2009.1 Hecate rev2562  , everything seems to work well, but in control panel , in the "Logged Tab" , i have the followiing message

PHP Warning
Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/usr/www/users/hihote/administrator/modules/mod_logged/english.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php/') in /usr/www/users/hihote/administrator/modules/mod_logged.php on line 341

I've written to my ISP ( hetzner.de ) to set the Time zone in php.ini ( beacuse i can't do it ) and they answered to me to add the following line in .htaccess

php_value date.timezone "Europe/Rome"

I'have done so but the message is still there, so at this point i'dont' think that this PHP warning message is related to the setting of timezone

Thank you in advance for any help about this problem
Mariano

this is a core module.. no install-uninistall... just upload the unziped file in administrator modules.....

as for the other problems we are working on them..

please standby ... it will be a fix very soon!

If you are in a hurry you can just download the full version (http://www.elxis-downloads.com/com_downloads/download.html?id=209).. unzip local and upload at your server the files that missing one by one
ignore only the tmpr/index.html

Thanks a lot -)

Sorry for this.
The update patch on EDC is now 100% correct. All files were checked one by one.
They were missing the Italian language files for the Elxis tools, the mod_logged folder and the eblog search bot.
All were added to the update patch. You can re-download it from EDC (http://www.elxis-downloads.com/com_downloads/patches/212.html).

Install it manually via phpmyadmin. Module logged is a core module, we NEVER unistall core modules.
