for director/files security reason  elxsi suggest  permission set  755/644 of all directory/files

but when I go to control panel / global configration -->  the configration.php shows "unwritable"

so I must use ftp to  change configuration.php to 777, the global configuration shows "writable"  in order to make new change.

the proble is when I make change and save.   the screen all disappear, and turn white, no thing on monitor screen.

I check the configuration.php  it already auto turn permission "511".  when I change permission to 777 again.

go to global configuration to make change.   same problem will happened again.

PHP 5.2.3

not just configration.php , even just click and look it  will change file permission automatically .  but also others file like language.php.

I go to check the language manager / chinese tranditional.php   just check it . it occurs error.

Quote
Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/home/httpd/vhosts/regi168.com/httpdocs/language/chinese_traditional/chinese_traditional.php' (include_path='.:') in /home/httpd/vhosts/regi168.com/httpdocs/includes/Core/loader.php on line 78

I must use ftp to change it back to 644.

do you have enabled the automatic chmod of new files/folders in elxis clobal config?
OR
applied any permission-reset  on all files/folders  from global config?

can you go  to PM   // I will give you a administrator temperaray account. //   if ok for you

just click golbal configration or go to check language manager / english language file.  just clcki it and save it.

now configration.php and language.php are 644
language directory are  755

you will see site down right away.

the chmod are still in default.
