Re-design of EDC web site

Elxis Downloads Center needs re-design. The following tasks must be done:
1. Update of IOS Downloads component
2. New template
3. Transfer the existing data to the new site.

As for the IOS Downloads component (I will do that):
- Add option to post comments on listings
- Tabular system to display a listing additional info
- Re-design of component's front-page
- Improved download statistics
- Latest updated listings
- Better internal linking between listings
- Crop for thumbnails
- Easier listing submission


As for the template:
In this I need you help. I need volunteers to create a template for EDC. The template must be excellent and unique.


I will be able to work on IOS Downloads + IOS Newletter next versions from January 2010 and on (After I finish component eForum). So this announcement is quite early but we better be prepared as sooner as possible.

Thanks for volunteer yourselves. Dejan if I understood well you propose your site's template for EDC? If yes, then the answer is no as we need something fresh.

We need a brand new template. Not a re-design of ANY existing template.The template must be created from scratch especially for EDC and should not look like any other template.

it is a new templetes that I made three months ago as a proposal for the EDC and it's just a demo and not my site.

His work will be to design templates for Elxis.

Ciao Datahell, since you are going to do some update for IOS download I would like to suggest to you some feature that are important IMHO.

Maybe this is the wrong section and the wrong post to write this ideas...then feel free to move them where you want:

1) Adding a different ACL system for IOS download in a way that a single user can be assigned to different groups or to a single specific downloads.
2) Time expiration for the file. A User or Users can download a file for a limited time period.
3) Adding the availability to show or hide the Categories to a different group/groups.
4) Adding the avilability to hide/show empty categories.
5) Adding the Revision table of the updated files. In that way we can have the History of the file updated with all the revisions. The updated file must preserve the address to the file eventually linked in HTML static pages or in content item where the file was previosuly linked.
6) Show hide all buttons available in the dowload files.
7) Anti leach system builded in.
8 ) Possibilities to check the MD5 of the uploaded file.
9) A fully customizzable template system for the download section .

This is my only wishlist that I would like to see implemented in ios download.
I repeat myself... are only my suggestion .... just a wish.

I think giving suggestion is a way to support the ELXIS growing.
