IOS download

Hi to all
I've just downloaded offical release of IOS Download (only component) and using it (adding a category and a listing) when I go to click on the added item I've got this error:

mysql Errore [1064] : EXECUTE
URI: index.php?option=com_downloads&task=category&cid=1&Itemid=82
Message: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that
corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near
'LIMIT 0,1' at line 1
LIMIT 0,1

That happen with a fresh installed elxis_2008.1_Nemesis_rev2245 on my PC locally (using lastest XAMPP).
The strange thing is thast this don't happen with ELXIS 2008.0

Just installed this and while testing, I received a similar error.

Ah, sorry but that is on my local test server.  As long as there is a fix, I will start to implement it on a live server and get back to you but after the holidays.

Just installed this and while testing, I received a similar error.

Petro, what exactly did u do before u get this message?

The same problem has been reported to me by 3 people (including you). Both 3 of you work on local sites and under XAMPP. I did not found any problem on the component on my local installation (I dont use XAMPP) or on any of the online sites I checked, so I can not re-produce the error to see it. If this error appears on a live site contact me to fix it.

I have simply setup a few categories and uploaded one test file.  

After that when I click on my download menu, the component works fine.  Then when I click on a category that has 0 files that shows properly but when I click on the category that has 1 file, that is when I receive the above error message.

It must have something to do with a count because everything else appears to work well: search, top authors, latest downloads.

I hope that the info helps.

No such problem on my live site. Smooth installation and no problem faced.

O.K., i'll try not to confuse you...

Two machines. One runs Xampp 165a. The other uns Xampp 168a.

On machine 1 is installed elxis 2008.1 r2204. IOS_downloads installed ok, cats have been done, files have been added, but when one hits the download link in menu, he gets this on top of the screen (above header):

After the message, files are shown and can be downloded correctly. The whole page follows.

On machine 2 is installed elxis 2008.1 r2204 patched to 2218.
No installation can be done. No error messages appear.

On machine 2 is installed elxis 2008.1 r2218 also.
Here the situation is same as machine 12008.1 r2204

On machine 2 is installed elxis 2008.1 r2245  also.
No installation can be done.No error messages appear too.

On my live site [rev2204, Linux 2.6.18, PHP: 5.1.6 (apache2handler), mysql 5.0.45], after uploading folders /components/com_downloads, /administrator/components/com_downloads, importing  elx_downloads_cats
elx_downloads_files
elx_downloads_gallery
elx_downloads_rating
and importing the changes to elx_components, as they appear on machine 1 elxis 2008.1 r2204 (as you can see, I cant install the component directly from elxis interface), the result was the same...   :'(

It looks like a nice component anyway... and I am sure people will love it too.

I only care about the on-line installations as your local sites might have problems cause of bad server set up.
Why you copy-pasted the component and did not install it via the Elxis installer?
The component should be installed the normal way. You can't install it normally?

For me the component works perfect and errors free, no one has reported me that he can not install the component on an online site and no one has repotred me that the component generates errors. If anyone faces a problem with IOS Downloads send me info to access his site.
