Title: Update Elxis CMS 4.2 from revision 1631 to 1636
Post by: webgift on August 10, 2014, 18:29:11
An update patch for Elxis CMS 4.2 Icarus version released yesterday as announced here (https://forum.elxis.org/index.php?topic=8196.0). I create this message in order to help users to update their installation from revision 1631 to 1636. In case that you have a different revision installed then please do NOT follow the current message.

How can i check the revision of my elxis installation?
- Login as administrator account and go [top menu] System -> Elxis Information and check the revision number that must be 1631.

Steps for the update:
- Download the update patch from 4.1 to 4.2 revision 1636 (https://www.elxis.net/edc/core/93.html) as latest modified August 09, 2014 22:06 at EDC.
- Unzip patch42.zip file
- Open your website using an FTP program like Filezilla (https://filezilla-project.org/download.php?type=client) and go to the folder that Elxis CMS is installed.
- I enclose (files_1631_to_1636.png image file) the files that need to be updated under their certain folders.

In summary you need to update 8 files and delete the calender.png file as placed under the folder /includes/js/jquery/flexigrid/css/images/

Thank you bledi for the report!

What if someone has revision 1634 ? Within the admin panel, i see this message:

There is an updated release (rev1636) of the Elxis version you have installed (rev1634). You might consider update.

Should i proceed or not ?

Always proceed to update.

The files that modified between revisions 1631 and 1636 are the following:

components/com_content/views/aarticle.html.php
components/com_content/views/acategory.html.php
components/com_emenu/views/menuitem.html.php
components/com_extmanager/views/modules.html.php
includes/version.php
includes/js/jquery/colorbox/colorbox.js
includes/js/jquery/flexigrid/css/images/calender.png => rename to "calendar.png"

You can take them from the update patch or from the main Elxis 4.2 release and update your installation.
