I have a need to use the "web links" for several different puposes within one site. For example as a business directory, then as a typical weblink directory, then as an online "shopping directory"... while each instance has a similar purpose... we need to install the same component multiple times.
1) can this be done?
2) what modifications have to be done to customize the component so that they do not conflict when installed
I really appreciate if anyone can push us in the right direction in this regard.
Any freelancer capable of the above can private message me.

Why don't you try to use the categories.
Categories, you can open as many as you like and then you can create direct a link in to the category you need.
Also you can create it with the mostree or you can wait to created with the new upcoming component from Elxis team.
If you have any question, don't hesitate to ask.

- can you tell me more about the "upocoming" project from the elxis team?
- the issue with using categories is that it effectively "co-mingles" the directory types. The client needs the higher level category for each module they would like to deploy.
For example "Job Listings" --> "Provicial Regions" --> "Job Sites Links"
The second component would be "Member Sites" --> "Provinial Region (category)" --> "Member Site Links"... etc. etc.
- If the web link coponent had a three tier category system it might work for the client.
- I'll have review of the mos-tree component and see if it might work.
