Hi everybody.
I have commissioned to a professional the building of a web site and he has choosen Elxis to do it. In the while he has done the the job I have written about 600 articles and also translated into other 4 languages, so now I have to publish 3000 articles.
You can understand that it's a very long and time spending job.
A friend, that does not know elxis and cannot be called an "expert" told me that maybe, instead of publishing the articles one after another from the administration of Elxis, I could interact with the website at the level of database and files preparing one or more sheets with excel or preparing something called a "dump" or "csv" for mysql.
Now, before I start the studing of the documentations and forums, could someone of you advanced tell me if my friend's idea sounds reasonable?
Of course any suggestion on the matter will be very appreciated.
Thank you

Forget Excel
Of course you can import your content directly through your Database. This procedure assumes that you have formatted your content, the paths for the images are ok, content will be displayed for the languages you have set & generally... everything is ready to be published. Otherwise, after the importation you must inspect 3000 articles.

rideyo you have pm

If you are interested I can provide you with a solution to add content via sending email.
-
Is this the "Job offering ads" area? ::)
-
the only way that i know for the solution is manual, and of course for me indecent for what collation has the database, if the elxis is install correctly and some other things

Spyro, I just tell Rideyo that I have a ready solution to add content via email.
In the next days, this tool will be on EDC in the next days.

Rideyo, the most important is that yo didn't tell us what is your level of knowledge of MySQL.
Do you know to write row text with images, text transformation, linking ?
If yes:
1. create a backup of your DB
2. locate the content table
3. define the structure
4. write a demo article and upload it via the phpmyadmin
Also you can create a FileMaker with ESS to edit / add / delete your database.
BUT ALL OF THIS IT IS NOT RECOMMENDED IF YOU DONT KNOW WHAT ARE YOU DOING.
