Hello acampball,

I've installed all three extensions, that are mentioned here, but i still cannot get it working :(
First I don't see where to place the Google API key.
Next in the Locations tab all remain empty, so i don't have any Locations to choose from, that i can move to the section Available locations.
I've tried and created a new hotel, published.. is that what you mean by active hotels.., but even it's
location is not published within the Locations.
I've seen there are tables in the database for the locations, but all are empty.

Could you advise me what to do.
regards
netamaster

 - API key - there's no API key needed in the Google API version 3

- Empty available locations - did you create some locations?  I don't understand, my suggestion: 1. create categories, 2. create locations, 3. create map and assign created locations into a specific map.
note: IOSR locations have nothing to do with MAP LOCATIONS

If you need help, send me your access codes to ELXIS CMS on tomas.jancik [at] tripidea.net

Dear jancikt, guys,

Thank you for the advice it worked.. The thing i'm trying to do is, what is described here:

- Integration with IOS Reservation 3.5. - together with MAPS module. (IOSR active hotels are displayed in the "location management" of the Map component - no need to remember hotel IDs)

i've made the locations, i just want to position for each hotel from ios res. it's position on google maps on the left.
Actually i've just did this.. So i've seen the small drop down on Location: Edit of Maps component. There i've chosen one of my active hotels.

So the next question is, is it possible to show on every hotel page the hotel position on the map
based on the hotel page we are looking at the moment?
/ so in other words if i'm on the hotel1 page to see on the left it's position on the google map /

10x in advance

I'm trying to understand what you mean.

Perhaps check this: http://www.tripidea.net/reservations/prague/aria-hotel.html (http://www.tripidea.net/reservations/prague/aria-hotel.html)  and then check this:

http://www.tripidea.net/reservations/prague/at-the-three-storks.html (http://www.tripidea.net/reservations/prague/at-the-three-storks.html)

You may see that each hotel shows the map centerred to the Current Hotel and it has different marker icon what the other.

Is this the output you want to achieve?

I installed this component.  realy easy-used.

when I made some description, I cannot see what I just input in the text_editor??

database checked, has the data I inputed.

in the front page, only see the Title when click the name.  where can find the description?

do you mean description of the MAP or description of the Location?

can you send me the URL where you have the map published?

Dear jancikt,

sorry to bother You again, but i have seen it works on some site You mentioned.
For my case i've made the map, set a location from a hotel, but what i want is to make dynamically to change the map location, depending on which hotel page we are.

Is this possible?

It's locations/description in the map component.

when I wrote up something in texteditor.  click "save"  and refresh again.  nothing show up just blank.   but can see it alread saved in the database.

if you can save and see it, may be is my setting is wrong.  I will check my setting again.

YEs it is possible ( as shown on my example)  However I have no time to explain now. I could make 1 example in you system for you if you are willing to provide elxis access codes. Otherwise you will have to wait for the documentation.

Thanks

Hello jancikt.

It means it's possible without programming and touching the codes of the Maps modules and components you've provided?
If it is something simple tell me the correct sequence of actions so i can apply it, or
if it is within the code can u describe a little bit .. what is the variable that to take the hotel position from, etc..

I just want to teach myself to do it.. that's why i'm not sure it's the best that you'll do it :)

Hi,

here is a quick manual how to make a dynamic map according to the displayed hotel in ios RES.

1. you need to have component and module MAPS installed. the module must be published on the Component IOS RES page
2. in the map component make a new location (which corresponds with the hotel in IOSR) and assign the hotel to it ( COMPONENT MAPS> LOCATIONS>EDIT> Ios Reservations Hotel tab
3. Assign this location into a map ( if you don't have created map yet you can do it afterwards.)
4. Make as many locations as you need
5. In the Component MAPS > MAPS>edit    - change the "Active marker icon"  this will show a different marker icon of the selected hotel
6. In the module parameters, select the map to display ( the one you just created.)

That's all, quite simple.

Thanks

Dear jancikt,

I've installed and used the maps but there are two strange cases for me:
1.st when the position is 0.000, 0.000 the map is not visible on the left. sometimes it shows blue square, sometimes not.
2. when i change the size of the visible maps module sometimes i think it's not visible. is that possible to be from the size?

Do you know something we should be aware of?

Thanasis the errors you pasted are just css errors, nothing special. I need to see the problem in action to find out which is the problem. Does the editor works for the rest elxis pages? Maybe acampball can help you more in this.

Unfortunately the error messages appear only for a few seconds. So, do not have time to copy them, only to get screenshots quickly.

Tip: Reverse the quotes and use addslashes if required.
File admin.maps.php line 777

Here is an idea (test it):

if (!get_magic_quotes_gpc()) { $value = addslashes($value); }
$database->setQuery("INSERT INTO #__map_descriptions (location_id, language, description) VALUES (".$row->id.",'".$key."','".$value."')");

Updated on EDC.

I installed updated (com_maps_1.1_rev02) and dosn't work. Displays new errors. Something about field of "info_hotel". Something like that. I don't remember, exactly. Unfortunately I did not print screen, and then uninstalled and installed again 1.1_rev01.
