Title: You have problems with Elxis? Check Updiag first!
Post by: datahell on January 27, 2007, 09:17:49
The first step to solve any problem regarding your Elxis installation is to check that your site filesystem is intact. You can perform this check easily through the Updiag administration tool. Updiag does not included in the main Elxis distribution, so you have to download it from elxis.org website and upload it in the tools folder via FTP. If Updiag inform you that some files are not up-to-date or are missing first update them to the latest release before trying to do anything else.

Im in the "Download hash files" area, and i see these 2 options:

2006.4_ext and 2006.4

What's the difference between those two hash files?

99,99% of the time what you need to check against an Elxis installation is the 2006.4 hash files.
2006.4_ext, as its name implies, extends the check to other files like installation, if I am remember well.

Hi sylva, safe mode is ON and that is causing you trouble. You need to ask your host to disable safe mode in php.ini.

It is impossible to enter the password in Back-end screen.
The cursor does not blink.

I can only input the user name.

Strange though, it happens only in Mozilla.
With IE it runs smouthly.

Why?

VERY STRANGE!  ::)   This started suddenly? Did it work before?

- What version of Mozilla?
- Have you experienced any similar problem with other form fields, in other sites (not based on Elxis)
- Have you added any strange add-on for Mozilla?

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; el; rv:1.9.0.10) Gecko/2009042316 Firefox/3.0.10 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)

No it was the first time, I used Mozilla and I did that, because of a problem with IE in using the "Send Now" command in IOS Newsletter component.

The site is http://grandprix.naspor.gr

Any suggestion?

I opened the back-end Administration screen, and i can insert username and password without any problem. See the attachment below.

Check your pc, its not an Elxis related matter.

oooooookkkkk!!! :-[

The problem was resolved.

I uninstalled a bunch of addons and all of a sudden it works now... but i don't know what was causing the problem.

Also it's very difficult to distinguish the password letters in the dark blue color of the background since they are black too. :-[

The only problem that remains now, is the inability to send newsletters with the IOS component, using IE in the Back-end. The pop-up window does not appear.
(With firefox, it works perfectly)

Are you experiencing the same problem?

sorry i don't understand you. What password letters! You don't see characters... but only dots! Just input the password. Nothing to see...

you upgraded  what  >>> to  what?

DON'T UPGRADE TO ELXIS 2009.1 TILL THE REALEASE OF THE PATCH IT IS THE SAFER WAY

YOU CAN SAFELY  MAKE ONLY NEW-CLEAN INSTALLATIONS NOW... FOR UPGRADES WAIT A COUPLE OF DAYS TILL THE RELEASE OF A PATCH.. or else you are going to mix things a lot

TILL THEN READ(YOU HAD TO READ )

bianco2k there was an error in file sef.php on revision2556 of Elxis 2009.1.
Please re-download Elxis 2009.1 (revision2558) and replace the file includes/sef.php with the one from the new Elxis package.
