I started developing the next (1.5) version of IOS Eshop shopping cart for Elxis CMS.
If you have a feature request, you wish something to be added on IOS Eshop, or something to be changed/removed, please post it bellow.
I will write here a list of what is already in schedule in order not to propose the same:
- Unlimited images per product
- Shopper groups (different prices/discount/VAT per shopper group)
- Pay via installments (Eurobank)
- Alpha bank gateway
- PayPal PRO (direct payment - direct credit card process) gateway (USA, Canada, UK)
- Direct credit card process via planetauthorize gateway (most merchant countries are supported)
- Product reviews
- Products comparison
- Currency exchange (IOS Reservations 3.x style)
- Product synthesis (Compilation, f.e. compose a computer by selecting individual computer parts)
- maybe shopping without login will not be allowed any more (user registration will be required)
- Tabular product page
- SSL/TLS switch (IOS Reservations 3.x style)
- Tabs in administration product edit page, easier to add product variants and features
- Ask for a better price (something like kotsovolos.gr -> "παζάρεψέ το")

1. Able to load images from directory

if 1a. then also 1b. Automatic resize of the image, not only for thumbnail, but also for the full size image.
2. Discount coupons with minimum order (if discount coupon is 100 euros, order must be more than 150 euros for the order to proceed)
3. Combine products (already in the products) to create offers with total discount
4. Group buy! users can pre order a product from a group buy product (or combine products), and the final order will proceed when the goal of minimum pieces is met. User will not pay with the pre order, BUT when the minimum pieces goal has been met.

1- products features
2- a form for who want to add products for eshop from front-end (accessible base for user groups , very useful when we need to work with some sellers)

The changes will be much more than I had initially scheduled, so eshop's next version will be 2.0.
Regarding some of your requests:
Product features already exist but there are not so easy to administer like they are. I will make them much more easier.
Multiple shops: no this is beyond the scope of eshop (an easy to administer shop) BUT I most probably add Attribute Sets (books, clothes, etc) that will be like the feature you asked. By assigning an attribute set, the corresponding extra fields will be assigned to the product. Also it will become clearer the product type (classic product, immaterial/virtual, downloadable) and also products that are compilations of other products (Bundle products).
Statistics: Will become more advanced.
Able to load images from directory: I dont get the purpose of this feature. You want to upload images to a folder on your site via FTP and then import them to eshop? Why?
Able to load unlimited images: Already done.

Starting from the 'shopping without login will not be allowed any more' i think it it absolutely no need for that change.
It is an optional function... and trust me very helpful regarding the web site. 70% in my web site visitors, shop without registration.
In terms of security, reliability, CRM etc yes i agree but there is no reason to disallow an optional function.
- Multiple shops... hmmm thats an intresting idea.. but i am not sure if its as simple as it sounds...
For example i am looking to add a new 'categorie' witch is actually.. 'a new eshop'...but i dont wonna make a new one.. in temrs of advertisment and much more. Big time.. but not an easy task for sure!
- Discount Coupon.. with percentage option, not an actuall value eg. 10 euros.. but 10 % ...
- Option for jquery or other javascript based preview of categorie images :)
- Option to 'see all' products of a specific category, not just page 1,2,3 etc

IOS Eshop has an internal registration/login system which makes very easy to login, you just enter your name etc that you would enter in any case plus a username-password. You have just to fill-in 2 more fileds. I think that it is not too hard...
Regarding seeing all products in one page: I think that this is a bad idea because there are shops with many-many products (I know a store with 130.000 products).
Regarding images: Added already support for unlimited images. I will add at least 2 alternative methods of displaying images so you will be able to choosing your desired one.

most shop-software when let anonymous orders they require an email ...
during anonymous-checkout they auto-register / auto-generate pass / send login info / print message that they have register this email and they kept logs about this user-email's order.. etc...
same time sends the order-details to the anonymous-user email
if the email is allready in the datadase they print a message which promote user to login..
the cart-order-details is stored in cookie.. if they login or auto-register the details of the order passed to user's-history..etc.
anonymous-cart => create and(or) switch during checkout => user-cart

We can also give a code to the customer after shopping , then the customer can refer to the site and enter that code , So he/she can check that how are his/her products in any status of delivery or ... : "Track Code"

With a use of a bot we can load images from directories.
John an example of a bot what I mean, I have upload it into the forum, if you like I can send it to you to see it.

The notify solution with sms or fax in ios reservation is fantastic i thing fax notify must included.
Also a notify for the order using the paypal payment must sent because some times the customer change his opinion the last moment .

- @ks-net, Yes, but your method is exactly as eshop currently works. It does a quick registration/login. The integrated registration does not requires user activation, thats why I believe that the "quick checkout" (shop without login) can be removed and all customer should login/register first.

It is like a password , how others can know it?
Also in track section , they can only view the statuses , not anything more

- Well seems that there are a lot of different opinions. I think about a simple solution such as ... IF THEN ELSE... style
At the moment a registered user has the benefit from discount coupons, add products to wish list ect.
In the same sesnsible manner.. a registered user could be able to see the order status, etc IF registered THEN benefits.. ELSE as it is.
- Related Products could be randomly selected by the same category… (?)

Here i am with my proposals (1 fix and 5 ideas):
• Fix Multiple Price Modifier Selection: I would like my client to be able to select more than one price modifier, for a product.
• Landing Page/Image for Campaigns: When someone arrives the 1st time on an eshop, make him land on an image (using lightview). Very good for Campaigns.
• Related products: An option to show an image instead of text only.
• Buy X product - Get Y free (or with discount).
• Recently Viewed Products just like the «Listings I have seen» module.
• B2B abilities (?)

Maybe asking for login before purchasing will turn off some impulsive buyers. I have sold thousands of products with no login features, and nobody complained, except when they want to know their order status, than its the main pain in the ...
I guess this is already planned for: different price for different size of product, example for selling black t-shirt would have different price for different size (small, xl, xxl...) and different quantity for each size but hopefully all selectable on the same black t-shirt product page.

Product prices on IOS Eshop 2.0
Except from the different prices/discount/vat per shopper group the following help features were also added:
- Copy a shopper group price to all other groups.
- Calculate Gross price (total) from Net price
- Calculate Net price from Gross price
Also note that:
- Gross price (total) is NOT required to fill it in. It is being displayed only for informational purposes.
- Unlimited shoppers groups are supported
- Only the "General" price is required. All others are optional.
- A special update script will convert IOS Eshop v1.x data to v2.x format

I am quite sure that you have to apply once again.

IOS Eshop files will be updated and any changes you may have done will be lost.
Products and categories images and downloadable files will stay untouched.
Database data will be updated but the old data will be preserved. There is only one problem with the products extra fields (additional info) that might not be able to be preserved but I try to find out a solution (Extra fields change completely as IOS EShop v2.x supports products types and extra fields are now bind to product types and not to products directly).
The idea behind the products types is to reduce the data entry, make products editing easier and group similar products beyond the categories boundaries. It is like something a multi-store (see farhad's request). Now you dont have to add extra fields one-by-one for each product, you select the product type (f.e. Books) and the corresponding extra fields are loaded automatically, ready to be filled-in (publisher, author, number of pages, edition, year of publication, etc). You can have special "front-pages" for each product type, one for the Books, one for the Computers, etc.

Hmm correct! Note: 999 maximum value.

Maximum value of 999 I think it is already very high. If you need to sell stuff that is in hundreds or even thousands of pieces, (f.e. nails, screws, paper clips), it is bad practice to sell them one by one. The best option is to sell them in groups, of 100 pieces for example, so the quantity in the basket will stay low.
Example:
"Each package contains 200 paper clips".
If the client select 5 as quantity, then he will finally get 5 X 200 = 1000 paper clips.

It depends on the product. If you sell favors (boubounieres) it's inevitable the basket's quantity not to stay low. It's something you cannot sell per group (100, 200).
Anyway, i set it to 999 and i think it's ok.

I'm back...
1) Updates Area: Ιt would be useful if we can have an option in the "Updates" area, so we can mark/check the files we have downloaded (i wrote about this, months ago). No need to be automatic.
2) B2B: I've been reading these days.... The main idea for an eShop to support B2B transaction (beyond B2C) is to provide different prices for particular users or user groups. So this feature "Shopper groups (different prices/discount/VAT per shopper group)" supports B2B transactions. Right? ;)
3) eShop backup: Abillity to backup only the eShop (?)
4) And something ClopyPasted ;D sorry for the Greek... but read it as it is.

1). IOS Eshop v2.x updates system will work as IOS Reservations 3.0, so I guess it is fine.
2). Then IOS Eshop is B2B ready!
3). I will see what can be done with an import/export utility. Taking a backup of IOS Eshop is easy, Elxis already gets backups. The most helpful feature would be to be able to import products from different shopping cart into IOS Eshop. I will check if this can be done without messing up IOS Eshop database...
4). OK, this also can be easily implemented.

elxis sections and categories are more than enough to just list products.

Many shopping carts have the option to work as product catalogues but I agree with ks-net, what the point of not selling the products? If you don't want to sell your products then you don't need a shopping cart. You need a directory script, a gallery, a blog, a "something else", but not a shopping cart.

How about been able to show some eShop products, in an Elxis frontend site. But through content items! Something like Easy Gallery.
Basically i want to publish these products in the main content of the site. Module is not a solution, that's why i said "through content items"

This can be done easily. I have talked in the past about "multi-template" templates on a conversation regarding templates for mobile devices. The basic principle is the same. Here is an example:

An other tip:
You can automatise this task and give the user the option to assign different "skins" of the template to eshop categories, without the need of modifying template's source code, by using template parameters (Elxis 2009.1+).
Parameters example
General idea: Skin selector -> assignment of categories
Skin selector: list of available skins (yellow, blue, green, blah, blah, ...)

But what about the eShop's skin alteration? That must be different also.

No, this can not be a request as the options are unlimited and such a feature can only be implemented with custom programming based on the specific client needs. The required code is very easy and small and the idea is to override default settings when special requirements are met.

Yes, you will be able to extend search on product features.
No, a multi-sellers shop is beyond the scope of IOS Eshop (an easy to use shopping cart).

One of the suggest features would be an integration (bridge) with a ERP or CRM, out there are some really nice & popular applications.

I was reading an article about a possible increase of VAT in Greece. In the new version, is it easy to have a feature to insert once the VAT for all products? Maybe in the General Settings somewhere?
Just imagine, if VAT increases. And someone having... hundreds of products in his eShop :-X

To update price, VAT and discount for a product you have to edit the product.
If you have too many products go to phpmyadmin and just execute an SQL query like the one bellow.
UPDATE elx_eshop_prices SET tax='21.00' WHERE tax= '19.00'; (for IOS Eshop v2.x)

What about bulk (batch) product load?
Can this be done? ( I commented this previously with IOS and he said that I have to build a PHP script to do that.)
Unfortunately I got no PHP experience.
Can someone come up with PHP script solution for executing automatic loading of huge numbers of products?
I am working with PHP myAdmin to attempt to work around this problem.

You need import the products from an different db (access, filemaker, mssql or mysql) into the IOS eshop DB?

Basically I need to load huge product list in several categories.
The info I will have is on a Spreadsheet.
Using Open Office Calc I can format it as I desire to fit the sql format (used in MySQL Database tables).
IOS was kind enough to provide me the actual tables that are used to describe products.
The trouble is that the products are described in several tables and the structure is pretty complex for me.
IOS recommended to build a PHP script to do the bulk product load.
Basically it is not a data migration task. It's more about speed and automation. I can enter the products one by one naturally, but it can take me a year to do.
My intention is to study the table structure and mimic the records using a spreadsheet columns.
Then to populate the tables one by one in .sql file format.
However I'm not sure that this is the right approach. I'll get at least 6 or 7 separate spreadsheets that I must keep consistent and related to each other.
It will be much simpler to use a single spreadsheet for the job, because the error probability will be cut down next to zero.
Any Ideas?

As you understand your needs it is very custom to be included in a general release.
Of course this task can be done. But it has to created specific for your spreadsheets.
If you can provide me with an exact copy of your spreadsheets, and your operating needs I will inform you for the total time of developing the custom script and the cost of it.
