Title: "Page Title" instead of "Site Name".... HOW ?
Post by: rentasite on October 16, 2007, 03:43:27

Hello,

i see that in Google searches the results show my site with its Site Name (as given in Global Configuration).

But i want those results to show the specific Page Title. Any idea?

If I have understood well, and the creators please correct me, you give the site name and then through the SEO tab (choose dynamic), takes the page title. Because, these are named global settings, in Google it must send one unique name. Therefore, I don't think that there will be an easy way except of a hack of something?

I am trying to create a patch for 2006 as there will not be any patch from 2006 to 2008.

A files patch can be easily create in a minute with a simple diff command, but this is not the point. The point is that you should create a huge script to update content, users, categories, sections, installed components, modules, bot parameters, create new templates, remove files, rename files, add seo pro urls checking their validity, install seo pro extensions, modify tools, install 2008 compatible template, change module positions etc etc. You want more? A migration procedure can not be automatically. Only manual and only by people that know VERY GOOD Elxis 2008 internal functions and code.

You misunderstand me Datahell, I will try to create a patch for Elxis 2006, ONLY for the titles.
from: Site name - Page title
to: Page title - Site name

As you already know this is the best way for the title regarding the SEO.

And this, only to improve the SEO for Elxis 2006 websites.

By the way, when 2008 will be out for public will there be any simple and basic guideline given for the migration from 2006?

Yeah ok. But if someone reads and follows instructions from a guideline i don't think it will be hard. Not harder from driving a space shuttle  ::)
