Hi,

First let's calrify something more obvious... Elxis is NOT a joomla fork, nor it has any relation to it beside MamboOS, and if you talk about forks, you may also say that joomla is a Mambo fork. ;) You may read more on my Elxis Srbija site, as I have wrote the whole history of Mambo and the birth of both Joomla and Elxis. I did it just because I wanted to emphasise the PARALEL development of the two CMS-es, and disperse any confusion between Elxis and Joomla.

As for Elxis and the related business plans, you may want to read this: https://www.elxis.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=220&Itemid=57

So we are free to  create extensions and distribute under our own license. Thanks for the info and sorry for the confusion. Since Elxis is the youngest one I thought is fork from Joomla not Mambo. My clients will be happy.

On this note we just updated  our latest template release.  My Photo  for Elxis is available  for you now

Youmla, Elxis has been created especially for professionals, there are no limitations and/or restrictions for commercial products. You can create anything under any license you wish like you did till now. Specially for the templates: We are developing now Elxis 2008. It is a XHTML/W3C compatible CMS with no tables at all. So, some things in templates have changed and many CSS classes now point to other html elements.

Example:

For component headers we used till now:
<table>...
<td class="componentheading">...</td>

now we use it this way:

<h1 class="componentheading">...</h1>

3rd party developers will have Elxis 2008 one month earlier in order to be prepared for the new version. It is really a very good version!

Youmla,

We encourage the creation of third party addons for Elxis. We do not care if they are commercial or not. We care though, to be good solutions.

We believe that developers and users, should have the freedom to choose what best fits their needs.
